Asad the Ace in Windsor pack

June 2022

Asad can augment his already admirable seasonal statistics with a second victory in 2022 in the Fitzdares Sprint Series Qualifier Handicap on Monday at Windsor.

The six-year-old has won one of his two starts so far this term, returning from a five-month absence to register a narrow neck victory at Chelmsford in April before only just failing to follow up back on turf at Haydock last month.

He was a little bit keen on Merseyside and had no answer when Ascot Adventure swooped to conquer in the final strides, eventually being beaten half a length.

The handicapper has put him up 2lb for that effort and while that puts him back on a career-high mark, it might not yet be beyond him.

Raducanu can hit the target at the third time of asking in the opening British Stallion Studs EBF Restricted Novice Stakes.

She is having her third start at Windsor, after running a cracker to be third as a 16-1 shot on her first attempt before letting down favourite-backers when only fifth a fortnight ago.

That was not a terrible effort and although it did not mark any significant progress from her first outing, it is too early to give up on the Massaat filly yet, with the application of blinkers expected to bring about some improvement.

Karl Burke has a clutch of smart juvenile fillies on his hands this season and Miss Brazen is expected to keep her unbeaten record intact at Carlisle.

A daughter of top-class Australian sprinter Brazen Beau, the youngster won readily on her racecourse debut at Redcar a fortnight ago and should be capable of defying a penalty in the Join Racing TV Now Restricted Novice Stakes before stepping up in class.

Alethiometer can provide the in-form Michael Dods with another winner in the racingtv.com Fillies' Handicap.

The three-year-old ran in three novice events as a juvenile last season, with a Thirsk victory sandwiched by two placed efforts at Redcar.

She has moved into the handicap sphere this term and after finishing third on her reappearance at Thirsk, she was denied by only a neck on her latest effort at Doncaster.

The way she stayed on over seven furlongs on Town Moor suggested this stiff track should be right up her street and she must have every chance of getting back on the winning trail.

Kevin Philippart de Foy made a few shrewd purchases from the Shadwell dispersal last year and Gidwa has proved decent value for his 17,000 guineas price.

He has only been out of the first four once in seven starts for his new team, with victories coming at Kempton and Southwell in February, and returning to the turf has proved no problem either.

Second at Windsor last month was followed up with another silver medal at Haydock and he would not need to improve too much to win a race like Nottingham's Join Racing TV Now Handicap.

Entrancement shaped well on her racecourse bow and can make her presence felt in the Free Tips Daily On attheraces.com EBF Fillies' Restricted Novice Stakes at Lingfield.

Trained by Harry Dunlop, the daughter of Expert Eye was a cheap purchase but her initial Newbury effort suggested she should be up to winning in due course.

Beaten nearly seven lengths in fourth as a 25-1 shot, she was staying on all the way to the line and this step up to seven furlongs is a definite positive. - Press Association
