Jack Milner: Aldo Domeyer can have a great start to the meeting at Durbanville on Saturday.
He rides Dragonfly in Race 1, a Maiden Plate over 1400m, a horse he steered into second place over 1250m last time.
Dragonfly was drawn widest of all and returning from a rest, during which he was gelded, when running on late to fill the runner-up berth behind newcomer Silvano’s Dasher, with re-opposing Infinite Peace only fourth.
On the evidence of that display the step up to 1400m should suit the Candice Bass-Robinson-trained runner, who is well drawn in No 4.
Domeyer then rides Vercingetorix gelding Bereave in Race 2 over 1250m for trainer Adam Marcus.
This lightly raced four-year-old has bumped one better in each of his last two starts in similar contests but would’ve only strengthened and improved during an 11-week break, so is a good bet to go one better and resume winning ways.
