Yeni should have the most fun

July 2022

Two might be company, but the fun of a threesome is what Muzi Yeni will be aiming for today on the Greyville Polytrack.
Yeni will be aboard veteran of 33 runs Capetown Affair in Race 8, a MR 68 over 1200m.
Having finished runner-up in three of his four outings since relocating to KwaZulu-Natal under the tutorship of Denis Bosch, Capetown Affair should visit the winner’s enclosure at the end of the lucky last. It has been exactly 900 days since he last won, but this son of Capetown Noir seems to have been given a second lease on life at the coast.
He has also been very lucky with draws since his move, and has drawn gate 1 for the third time.
Capetown Affair has shown tremendous early pace throughout his career and it is significant that Bosch has decided to drop him down in distance, and has opted to fit blinkers.
Perhaps he just needs to be let go early on and play catch me if you can. If that is the case, he will be very hard to catch.
He has been a very temperamental horse and is by no means an easy ride, but it does seem that Bosch has managed to get the best out of him.
Just before his ride on Capetown Affair, Yeni rides Quest For The Best in Race 7, a MR68 Handicap over 1200m.
He is another who has changed yard and is now under the guidance of Gareth Van Zyl.
In his third ride for his new trainer, he has finally landed a plum draw and with the experienced Yeni in the irons, could well prove why he was rated as high as 70 earlier in his career. That rating has dropped steadily to the current 55.
Earlier on the card Yeni rides Catch The Tune in Race 4, a MR68 Handicap over 1700m.
Not disgraced in a much more competitive field last time out, he drops down in class to where he could record a second career victory.
