Grade 1 Computaform sprint runner-up William Robertson makes his way to KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday for a Pinnacle Stakes over 1400m which he should dominate.
It was probably William Robertson’s appearance that has scared off the opposition as he meets just five others in Race 2 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville. Rated 121, he will be the best horse racing at the meeting but also one that has a very good record over 1400m. v
William Robertson carries 3kg more than the last year’s Thekwini Stakes winner Canadian Summer, but the Oratorio filly is still some 11 points, or 5.5kg, out with the five-year-old Rafeef gelding.
Canadian Summer does look the obvious danger but trainer Daryl Moore’s charge did run unplaced for the first time in her career last time out. It was a quality field, though, and she made good progress and in the end was only defeated 1.75 lengths by Quasiforsure. She doesn’t seem the type who likes to be dominated, however, and William Robertson and Gavin Lerena may have to go some to fetch her.
