Will there be a ‘Hotfix’ for Greyville racing?

Hopefully the weather in Durban has settled down enough so Wednesday’s racemeeting at Hollywoodbets Greyville will be able to go ahead without any impediments.

This is the meeting that was scheduled to be run last Monday and fortunately there have been very few withdrawals.

One of the better bets on the card looks to be Syx Hotfix, who looks to be in with an excellent winning chance. Alyson Wright’s (pictured above) charge runs in Race 4, a MR75 Handicap over 1800m.

This well-bred Flower Alley gelding turned his form around with two victories and a second on the Polytrack after showing little on the turf at the start of his career.

In his last outing he found only one better in Etiquette, a horse who made his own pace and was always going to be hard to catch carrying less weight, to deny him a hat-trick.

Frontrunners such as Querari's Cowboy, Galabier and High Green should ensure a solid gallop from the outset, although this may also play in favour of With Pleasure, who comes into the race after taking part in the Grade 1 SA Derby at Turffontein.

His class could make him a big player, but only if the new inmate of Dean Kannemeyer’s yard takes to the Polytrack. Swingers and Exactas with Syx Hotfix and With Pleasure could be the way to go.
