El Draque is knocking at the door so should contest but has drawn wide. The rest have to raise their game somewhat.

Greenlight Legend has even less to beat in Race 2, a 1400m Maiden Plate for three-year-old fillies. She may not be headed for greatness, but she has run two good races in a row and in her last she may have chased the pace in a race that suited the frontrunner, Porto Zante.

Next best on form is Miss Paget, who has 2.10-lengths to make up on Greenlight Legend while Equilibrium and Secret Summer have not shown much in sprints and will need to produce the goods, which seems unlikely.

There are also first-timers in it, but it will take a good one to negotiate this track and beat a horse with the experience of Greenlight Legend.

The best of the value options on the day looks to be Quanabi, who seems to have dropped enough in merit ratings to be able to win again. She has drawn wide in Race 5, a MR 66 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1400m but it must be remembered that she won her maiden by just under five lengths when jumping from the widest gate.

Stable companion Fort J’Adore may be stable elect on riding arrangements but having dropped from a merit rating of 77 to 68, Quanabi could be the one waiting to surge at the right time.
