WEEKEND SOCCER HIGHLIGHTS: 14 - 16 March 2025

March 2025

HIGH-OCTANE SOCCER AND CHANCES GALORE TO WIN BIG!

Football fans are enjoying a week of high-octane action that continues through the weekend with matches in all the top leagues and then the Liverpool-Newcastle Carabao Cup final on Sunday evening, when the Reds will go all out to put a trophy in the cabinet after crashing out of Champions League midweek. For TAB customers there are chances galore to score big wins and Saturday’s likely R27-million Soccer 13 will be the chief target.

R12.9-MILLION CARRYOVER SHOULD YIELD R27-MILLION POOL

The pool kicks off with a R12.9-million carryover and comprises a challenging combo of five English Premier League clashes and eight Championship games. There’s another chance to hit a big Soccer 13 on Sunday, when the all-13-correct pool has a guaranteed R6.5-million Jackpot.  And if Soccer 13 doesn’t appeal to you, there are R250,000-added Soccer 10 bets daily Friday through Sunday, as well as a R250,000 carryover Soccer Any 13 Xtra.

There are no cast-iron bankers in Saturday’s EPL clashes, but you have to take chances to win Soccer 13 and victories for Manchester City at home to Brighton and Notts Forest away to Ipswich are two outcomes to gamble on.

Current form and other statistics can count for little in the ultra-competitive English Championship, but Blackburn at home to Cardiff and West Brom at home to Hull both look banker bets to win in Saturday’s Soccer 13. Plus Burnley should be able to win away at Swansea and you also have to fancy Middlesbrough to go to Luton and win.

Luton looked likely to bounce straight back to the EPL after being relegated last season, but they lost key players like Ross Barkley and didn’t replace them. Add in a few other issues since and instead of returning to the EPL, Luton are on track for League One.

Sunday’s League Cup final will be preceded by the North-West London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea, currently second and fourth respectively and separated by only six points.

Hampered by injuries to key players, Arsenal haven’t won any of their last three league matches. Bukayo Saka and Kai Havertz remain on the sidelines, but the Gunners should have Gabriel Martinelli fit and firing for Sunday, given he came off the bench in Arsenal’s draws with United and PSV.

Enzo Maresca’s Chelsea, meanwhile, have won their last two EPL matches, but they were against relegation-doomed Southampton and Leicester. Chelsea have much more to do come Sunday and Arsenal should take all three points in what is often a bad-tempered and entertaining contest. Defeat for Arsenal will put them on the brink of being sucked into a battle for Champions League slots next season.
