LOOK OUT FOR THE SOCCER 13 JACKPOT POOL ON SUNDAY

This weekend abounds with opportunities for football fans to win big on TAB soccer bets, ranging from cash-added Soccer 6 and 10 pools tonight and tomorrow to Sunday’s guaranteed R6.5-million Soccer 13 Jackpot for all-13-correct bets.

LIVERPOOL SET TO PACK TO MUCH FIREPOWER FOR CITY

Sunday’s mega Soccer 13 comprises an exciting mixture of games from the top leagues in Denmark, England, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. There are two English Premier League clashes - Newcastle at home to Notts Forest and title-chasing Liverpool away to Manchester City.

You have to fancy Liverpool to come away with all three points. City did beat Newcastle 4-0 last weekend, but their limitations this season were driven home midweek when they were dumped out of Champions League by Real Madrid. Any glimmer of hope City had in that clash went up in smoke once Erling Haaland was ruled out by injury and Real Madrid duly won 3-1, in the process highlighting the woeful deficiencies in the City defence this season.

The defeat at least leaves City able to concentrate domestically with the chief aim obviously to finish in the top four and qualify for next season’s Champions League. But that is unlikely to save them on Sunday when the Liverpool strike force headed by Mohamed Salah is likely to find plenty of chinks in a defence that has conceded more goals than any other side in the top eight in the Premiership.

Liverpool have been brilliant in their first season under Arne Slot. The Dutchman took over from Jurgen Klopp with huge shoes to fill, but under his guidance the Reds have lost just two matches in all competitions up to this point.

In the EPL they have lost just once, a 1-0 home defeat by Nottingham Forest back in September. Slot's side have dropped a few points recently - a late James Tarkowski goal gave Everton a 2-2 draw in the Merseyside derby and then Liverpool needed a Trent Alexander-Arnold strike at Aston Villa on Wednesday to earn them a 2-2 draw.

Those were both tough games though and City will need to be sharp to prevent the likes of Salah running riot. The Reds look a sound banker to win, as do Real Madrid, Real Sociedad, Atalanta, Juventus and PSG in their respective matches.
