MORE GREAT CHANCES TO WIN BIG ON SOCCER THIS WEEKEND

There are opportunities galore to win big cash on a weekend headlined by the latest edition of the Soweto Derby. The action starts tonight with a R150,000-added Soccer 10, in which AmaZulu and Manchester City look standout bankers to win, and continues tomorrow with two more added pools, a R200,000 carryover Any 13 Xtra and a guaranteed R19-million Jackpot pool if there is only one all-13-correct winner of Soccer 13.

PIRATES LOOK CLEAR FAVOURITES TO WIN THE SOWETO DERBY

Some 90 000 fans will pack into FNB Stadium this Saturday, when Kaizer Chiefs go up against Orlando Pirates in a Betway Premiership clash that carries Soweto bragging rights and three vital Betway Premiership points for the victor.

Pirates start clear favourites despite back-to-back defeats that have seen them knocked out of CAF Champions League and diminished their chances of overhauling Sundowns in the race for the Betway Premiership title.

Pirates went down 1-0 in a league clash with Sekhkhune on Wednesday and the defeat leaves them 12 points behind Sundowns with only two games in hand. Barring a slip by Sundowns, Pirates’ chances of catching the log-leaders now look slim.

Nevertheless, Pirates should be too classy for Chiefs, who are having another poor season. Nasreddine Nabi’s side are without a win in their last six league games and have slipped to ninth in the table, leaving them in serious danger of missing out on a place in the MTN8 for the second season in a row.

Nabi admitted after last weekend’s loss to Marumo Gallants that Chiefs seem to have lost their way of playing, not exactly a good omen heading into a game as tricky as the derby.

Under Nabi, Chiefs have already lost 11 league games this season and the pressure on the Tunisian’s job would surely be more severe if he had not also taken Amakhosi to this season’s Nedbank Cup final.

That showpiece fixture will also be against Pirates next Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban. A victory there could still salvage joy from Chiefs’ sorry campaign, but meanwhile they need three points from the derby to boost their top-eight chances.

Pirates, however, will be determined to prove their superiority ahead of the Nedbank Cup final and keep alive their remaining hopes of catching Sundowns in the league.

Jose Riveiro’s side are aiming to complete a second successive Premiership double over Chiefs. They beat them twice last season and in the first of this term’s league clashes. With Riveiro having announced that he will be leaving the club at the end of the season, Pirates’ players will be hoping to give their coach a decent send off by at least winning the Nedbank Cup.

Certainly it will still be a fine end to Riveiro’s stint if the Buccaneers can win Saturday’s derby and then pick up a third successive Nedbank Cup to go with the three MTN8s they have also won under their Spanish head coach.

The Soweto Derby is included in tomorrow’s R150,000-added Soccer 10 and a R50,000-added Soccer 6. Plus you will find it in the carryover Any 13 Xtra. Make Pirates a banker to win in all those bets.
