Warren Point stands out at Kempton

Charlie Appleby's Warren Point can make a success of his first start on the all-weather in the Listed Raven Roofing Floodlit Stakes at Kempton on Monday.

The three-year-old, who is by Dubawi and was gelded before his first run, was twice a winner in the summer when landing a maiden and then a novice at Newmarket and Doncaster respectively.

He was then second behind stablemate Wild Crusade in an Ascot handicap but returned to the winner's enclosure once more when winning at Goodwood from Blue Trail - another Appleby-Godolphin runner.

Last seen finishing third - again behind Godolphin horses in Marching Army and Ottoman Fleet - at Newbury, the bay now makes his all-weather debut over 2400m.

He is proven at the trip, clearly consistent and has seen his ability proven further by the good fortunes of the horses who have beaten him - most notably Ottoman Fleet finishing second in the Darley Stakes at Newmarket in October and taking the James Seymour Stakes at the weekend.

Anything like a normal step forward from his debut should make Mr Buster hard to beat in the British EBF Future Stayers Maiden Stakes. The Ralph Beckett-trained son of Sea The Stars will have delighted connections with his effort at Nottingham, where he moved into it well but could never get to winner Liberty Lane who proved rather relentless in front and could be very decent.

Sensibly not at all knocked about, he sets a fair standard for newcomer Amleto - a full-brother to Arc runner-up Sea Of Class - to aim at.

At Plumpton Shelikesthelights can strike for Joe Tizzard and Brendan Powell in the Bet Goodwin Mares' Maiden Hurdle.

The four-year-old filly justified favouritism on her debut in a Fontwell bumper in May, winning very comfortably.

She faces a smart mare in Mullenbeg, but she has been beaten at odds-on the last twice.

Gary Moore's Fascinating Lips took to his new career when winning by seven lengths at Fontwell recently.

Owned by Harry Redknapp, Fascinating Lips must carry a 3.5kg penalty in the Creative Pod Award Winning Design & Marketing Novices' Hurdle.

Chris Gordon's string have started the season in great form and Lord Baddesley looks to hold very strong claims in the Cranbrook Underwriting Handicap Hurdle. Second to Knappers Hill in the Silver Trophy at Chepstow first time out, he will not find this test as taxing. – Press Association
