Two good bets at Greyville

Jack Milner: Racing on the Polytrack at Greyville has produced a number of upsets this season so it always helps to find a couple of bankers for one’s exotic bets.

That gives punters the opportunity to load some of the more difficult races and hope they can find the outsiders in those legs.

So, with that in mind, Flying Peter and Policy Target look possible Pick 6 bankers in their respective races at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday.

Dean Kannemeyer-trained Flying Peter lines up in Race 3 and was unlucky not to win his last race when getting into a bumping match with red-hot favourite Burning Wings. But he should be match-fit now, having his third run after a rest.

Although his last run was on the turf, he has had two forward runs on the Polytrack prior to having been gelded.

His main danger looks to be Deorsa from the Robbie and Shannon Hill stable. The son of Soft Falling Rain had two promising runs in June, one at this track, but has not been seen in action for six months.

He could need the run but if one does not want to banker Flying Peter, Deorsa is the horse to add. It could be worth keeping an eye on any betting support.

In Race 4, many punters will be looking to recoup their losses on Policy Target, who looked to be running on empty by the end of his last run over 2000m. Andre Nel’s charge has run second in his last three starts and the drop to 1600m could be just what he needs.

He has Anton Marcus up and will be super-fit in his third run following a layoff. Hopefully he will improve in his first race on the Polytrack.
