Saturday’s Turffontein race meeting, which is headed by the Joburg Spring Challenge and the equivalent race for fillies and mares, has been postponed until Sunday because of rain.
Nearly 38mm of rain had fallen at Turffontein in the 36 hours to 07:00 Saturday, when a track inspection confirmed that the going on the Inside track was already soft.
With rain falling at the time and more rain forecast throughout today, it was decided to move the meeting to tomorrow, when current weather forecasts are for sunny skies.
