TOI CAN IMPOSE HIMSELF ON LONG DISTANCE HURDLE FIELd

November 2025

By Anita Chambers, PA

Impose Toi can make the leap from handicap glory to Grade Two gold in the Coral Long Distance Hurdle at Newbury.

Nicky Henderson's charge is an admirably consistent type and is yet to finish out of the first four in 14 career starts, recording five wins along the way.

The seven-year-old began last season with a win at this very meeting, before taking on all the big spring festivals, finishing second in the Coral Cup at the Cheltenham, fourth in a really competitive heat at Aintree and then second at Punchestown when he was attempting to concede 13lb to the winner.

Henderson stepped him up to an extended three miles for the first time on his Aintree reappearance at the start of the month and that proved a shrewd move as he duly recorded a cosy verdict in that Pertemps qualifier off top weight - a result which has sent his rating to 153.

That leaves him 5lb behind top-rated Strong Leader, but that rival must shoulder a penalty and that could prove crucial in what looks a tight heat on paper.

Regent's Stroll makes his long-awaited debut over fences in the Coral John Francome Novices' Chase.

Paul Nicholls spoke of his charge in glowing terms after he hacked up in a maiden hurdle at this fixture 12 months ago but he subsequently disappointed in the Challow Hurdle and then suffered an odds-on reverse when dropped to Listed company.

Back on track when reverting to ordinary novice level, he then failed by just half a length to make all in an Aintree Grade One, looking a lovely chasing prospect in the process.

Kate O'Riley should appreciate a slight dip in level for the Coral ``Daily Rewards Shaker'' Fillies' Juvenile Hurdle.

She goes back to Listed company after finding One Horse Town far too good in a Grade Two at Cheltenham earlier in the month, beaten eight lengths by Britain's leading contender in the division so far.

Kate O'Riley was having just her second hurdles run there and the experience should help her here.

Moon Rocket can return to winning form in the Ice Cream Direct Novices' Limited Handicap Chase at Doncaster.

He won his first two hurdles starts but then twice came unstuck in Grade Two contests and was pulled up on his final start at Aintree.

Given he was a point to point winner before joining Kim Bailey and Mat Nicholls, it will be disappointing if he cannot make an immediate mark over fences.

Dubai Honour can warm up for a trip to Hong Kong with victory in the Listed Midnite Churchill Stakes at Southwell, with Alfa Kellenic the pick in the Midnite Golden Rose Stakes.
