Thunder to roll in at Lingfield

June 2023

One Night Thunder is one to be with on Monday at Lingfield, where he goes in the Play With The Finest Bookmaker, Fitzdares Handicap.

The Night Of Thunder colt has run with credit behind the likes of Cicero's Gift and Lord Of Biscay since scoring on debut in March.

Richard Hannon's charge cost 300,000 guineas as a yearling and should be suited by the step up in trip as he makes his handicap bow over 10 furlongs.

Alpine Girl relished the drop back to five furlongs when opening her account over track and trip recently and a follow-up looks far from a mountain to climb for James Fanshawe's filly in the Faithorn Farrell Timms Handicap.

The daughter of Acclamation showed what she was capable of given these conditions on that occasion and can now continue on her upwards curve as it is unlikely she is at the summit of her potential.

Although up 5lb, she is once again unleashed over the minimum distance and like last time can be expected to be played by the talented Benoit De La Sayette.

Sir Michael Stoute's Wodhooh catches the eye in Wolverhampton's Follow @attheraces On Twitter Fillies' Handicap, judged on what she has achieved in novice and maiden company to date.

Her Lingfield debut admittedly was nothing to write home about but the daughter of Le Havre was not disgraced when fifth in a deep Newbury maiden on her seasonal return.

Wodhooh's next start saw her bump into Roger Varian's Modaara at Kempton and considering that rival was deemed worthy of competing at Group level next time, an opening mark of 72 looks more than workable as attentions are shifted to handicaps.

Etihad Rail has been knocking on the door in two starts so far and it would be no surprise if he made it third time lucky in the At The Races App Market Movers Restricted Novice Stakes.

Marcus Tregoning's son of Fast Company was up with the pace throughout when a useful third on debut at Newbury and was again prominent when bumping into a handy winner at Leicester.

He was keeping on well at the finish on that occasion and the move to seven furlongs could unlock the small amount of improvement required to find the scoresheet.

Glory And Honour is only 2lb higher than when scoring at Dunstall Park three starts ago and appears poised for another big outing in the West Midlands in the At The Races App Form Study Handicap.

He was slowly away and held up when unable to catch the front two at Wetherby last time, but was beaten less than two lengths and gave the impression an extra furlong here would not be an issue.

At Carlisle, it is Project Geofin who appeals most in the opening Join Racing TV Now Restricted Maiden Stakes.

Plenty went wrong for Geoff Oldroyd's runner when he was an eyecatching second at Beverley on debut and the form of that run got a huge boost when the Royal Ascot-bound winner, Bombay Bazaar, landed the Two Year Old Trophy Conditions Stakes on the Westwood recently.

There could be plenty more to come from Project Geofin and this looks the ideal spot for him to take the next step. - Press Association
