This looks easy for Arsenal

With the English Premier League and other top leagues playing midweek and through the weekend, TAB soccer pools are packed with dynamite matches and come the weekend TAB will spice up the brew even more with add-ins of R850,000 to selected Soccer 4, 6 and 10 pools

Arsenal will be looking to make it five wins out of five and keep up their winning sequence at the top of the English Premier League when they host Aston Villa tomorrow night.

The Gunners made heavy work of beating Fulham last Saturday to post a fourth successive victory, but this should be a relatively easy task for Mikel Arteta’s side against an Aston Villa team already under early season pressure.

There is a full set of midweek fixtures in the English Premier League, Italy’s Serie A and France’s Ligue 1 as the respective league campaigns begin to gather momentum and give TAB soccer customers more opportunities to assess the relative abilities of the different teams this season.

Arsenal take on a Villa side down in the doldrums and must be fancied to keep winning. Steven Gerrard is insisting he can lead Villa up the Premier League table after they were booed off following a 1-0 defeat by West Ham United on Sunday. Gerrard appeared to be targeted by some fans as he headed towards the Villa Park tunnel and the former Liverpool captain said afterwards: “We share our supporters’ frustration, and there’s no one more frustrated than me.”

Gerrard needs a good result quickly, but the bad news is that Villa have some tough games coming up. No wonder then that Gerrard is currently second favourite behind Brendan Rodgers at Leicester to be the first EPL manager sacked this season.

After their nine-goal spree on Saturday, Liverpool can be expected to win again at Anfield against Newcastle United tomorrow, although it will certainly not be as easy. The Reds also have their derby with Everton to come at the weekend and will want to keep up momentum.

Tottenham Hotspur have also impressed as Harry Kane is back on song. He has his eyes on Alan Shearer’s EPL goal-scoring record after a Sunday double against Nottingham Forest saw him edge closer to the former Newcastle United and Blackburn Rovers striker. Kane is level with Andrew Cole on 187 goals and has put Wayne Rooney and Shearer within his sights. Rooney is 21 ahead on 208 while Shearer leads the pack on 260, which is 73 ahead of the Spurs striker.

Spurs are up against West Ham tomorrow in what is going to be a tough away clash, but a touch of Kane magic could swing it their way.

In Serie A, there are six clubs sharing the lead with seven out of a possible nine points and that list is not likely to thin out with Napoli, AC Milan, Lazio and Roma likely to win. The other two play each other with Atalanta fancied to drop Torino from the front pack.
