MEGA SOCCER 13 BETS ON BLOCKBUSTER WEEKEND

Welcome to another blockbuster weekend for TAB soccer customers with wall-to-wall opportunities to win bombs on cash-boosted pools packed with enthralling matches. Two mega Soccer 13s with guaranteed pools for all-13-correct bets headline the action - a R32-million whopper on Saturday and a R9-million pot on Sunday.

CRACKER R100,000-ADDED SOCCER 6 ON SUNDAY

Soccer 13 is not the only game in town though. There are four cash-added pools through the weekend, starting with tonight’s R250,000-added Soccer10 set to total over R2 million. The cracker pool of the weekend is Sunday’s R100,000-added Soccer 6 comprising five English Premier League clashes and a Carling Knockout semi-final.

The EPL matches include the weekend’s blockbuster game with back-to-form Liverpool heading to the Etihad for what has the makings of a memorable clash with Manchester City. The game is M6 in Soccer 6 and you will also find it in Soccer 4, 6 and 13 bets on the day.

Neither side is likely to play flamboyant football because neither can afford to lose. City are currently second on the log, six points behind log-leaders Arsenal and a point ahead of Liverpool in third. Assuming Arsenal beat Sunderland on Saturday and Sunday’s game does not end in a stalemate, either City or Liverpool will find themselves nine points behind and with a mountain to climb in the title race.

City are currently 9-10 favourites to win with 3-1 a draw or a Liverpool victory, odds that don’t look overly realistic given the shortcomings both have displayed this season.

Both come into the contest off back-to-back victories, including Champions League successes midweek with Liverpool looking good in beating Real Madrid 1-0. The Reds were much better defensively with the full-back pairing of Bradley and Robertson, and also in the midfield with Wirtz pushed forward into a left-wing role.

Whether Liverpool coach Arne Slot sticks with the same line-up and formation remains to be seen, and City are likely to play more conservatively and leave less space for their rivals than Real Madrid did on Tuesday night.

City have won eight of their last 10 games and lost only once, but still have defensive flaws that the likes of Gakpo and Salah will seek to exploit, plus there’s too much reliance on Haaland to score goals.

The stage is set for an entertaining contest in which a draw looks the likely outcome, especially considering that five of the last 10 clashes between these two giants of world football have ended in stalemates.

FIVE POSSIBLE BANKERS FOR R32-MILLION POOL

Saturday’s big Soccer 13 is a mixture of EPL, Championship and League One games and is unlikely to prove an easy puzzle to solve. But there do appear to be several bankers - all of Chelsea, West Ham, Southampton and West Brom to win at home, while Sunderland are having an unexpectedly successful season but should struggle to contain the firepower of Arsenal.

Locally, the Carling Knockout semi-finals are the headline acts with cup kings Pirates likely to put Richards Bay to the sword in Durban in the first of them tomorrow.

Golden Arrows are home to Gallants in the second semi on Sunday and the visitors face a tough task on paper. They lost 4-0 to Arrows recently, their third defeat in the last five clashes between the two sides with the other two games ending in draws.
