TOP GAMES AND FOUR CASH-ADDED POOLS

TAB soccer bets are loaded with quality and competitive matches again this weekend, plus there are four cash-added pools, a R100,000 carryover Soccer Any 13 Xtra and Saturday’s Soccer 13 has a guaranteed R18-million Jackpot in the event of only one outright winner.

THREE SA CLUBS NEED CONTINENTAL COMPETITION WINS

Fans of local football will find several last-16 Nedbank Cup clashes in TAB bets, plus three PSL clubs will be in action in the group stages of African Champions League and Confederation Cup - Sundowns are away to St Eloi Lupopo in the ACL and in the other competition Chiefs host Al Masry and Stellenbosch are away to Otoho d’Oyo in Brazzaville in the Congo.

For all three Betway Premiership teams these are pretty much must-win games if they are to progress to the knockout stages of both competitions. Stellenbosch are last in Group C after four of the six group games and must win both remaining contests to stay in the hunt.

In their favour they did beat Otoho 1-0 at home last November and a Nedbank Cup triumph over Chiefs midweek should have boosted their morale. That said it’s no easy assignment.

Chiefs, the Nedbank Cup holders, were having a fairly successful season until this week when they crashed out of this term’s cup at the first hurdle. They went down 2-1 to Stellenbosch on Wednesday, when poor finishing in front of goal let them down again, and they are bang on track for another barren season unless they can win the PSL or the Confederation Cup.

Chiefs take on Al Masry on Sunday in their penultimate Confederation Cup group game at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane and a win over the Egyptian side is virtually essential if they are to advance beyond the group stages.

SUNDOWNS AND CHIEFS NEED TO FINISH BETTER

Chiefs lost the reverse fixture against Al Masry back in November, but on home soil they have a solid chance of turning the tables provided they do not squander scoring chances at the same rate as against Stellenbosch.

Sundowns lost their last ACL group match against Al-Hilal Omdurman, a game they would have won with more clinical finishing, but should get back on the winning trail against Lupopo. They were at home when beating Lupopo 3-1 last year, but looked vastly superior and should be able to repeat that success away.

All three matches are included in Sunday’s R150,000-added Soccer 10, in which wins by Sundowns and Alaves in LaLiga look the banker bets.
