TAB WEEKEND SOCCER HIGHLIGHTS: 3 - 5 October

October 2025

CASH-ADDED BETS AND TOP MATCHES GALORE

Four cash-added bets and a guaranteed R18-million Soccer 13 Jackpot in the event of only one outright winner add plenty of zip to this weekend’s range of TAB soccer pools, which include Carling Knockout first-round clashes in South Africa and games from the English Premier League and Championship. And football fans are already enthusing about the prospects of winning a bomb payout on the guaranteed R62-million Soccer 13 Jackpot on Saturday 25 October, when the pool is set to total over R100 million!

BANK ON DURBAN CITY IN TONIGHT’S BIG SOCCER 10

Two of the four weekend pools carrying added cash from TAB are tonight - a R50,000-added Soccer 6 and a R150,000-added Soccer 10, which both kick off with the opening game in this season’s Carling Knockout.

This is the third year of the Carling Knockout Cup, formerly titled the Telkom Knockout, with the first two editions of the competition having provided Stellenbosch and Magesi with their first major trophies. The Carling Knockout is contested by the 16 PSL teams and it’s a one-game knockout format decided by penalties if necessary.

All eight games in the round of 16 will be played this weekend with Durban City hosting Polokwane tonight in the first of them. City have made a strong start to life in the top flight and have won their last two home matches. This is likely to be a hard-fought, low-scoring clash, but expect City to make the most of playing at home against a team that does not have the best of records on the road. They have already clashed in the league this season and that ended 0-0 with Polokwane at home.

Both the cash-added Soccer 6 and 10 also include the EPL encounter between Bournemouth and Fulham. The hosts are even-money favourites to win and head coach Andoni Iraola has turned them into a sharp side, as evidenced by their current sixth place in the EPL table. But they are far from certain to beat Fulham, who can take down the best when it all comes together.

PIRATES ON TRACK FOR 10TH VICTORY IN A ROW

The Carling Knockout rolls on through the weekend with four matches on Saturday, three of which are included in the day’s R150,000-added Soccer 10. Last Saturday’s cash-added Soccer 10 saw four TAB customers each bank over R400,000 and there are prospects of another big payout.

The safest banker has to be cup kings Orlando Pirates at home to Siwelele. Pirates are seeking their 10th straight victory and have not conceded a goal in their last seven games, whereas Siwelele have off-the-field trauma and have only two wins and a draw with six losses from nine games this term. They lost only 1-0 to Pirates in a Betway Premiership last month, but were at home that day.

Arsenal entertain West Ham at the Emirates in an EPL clash and also rank a banker bet to win. West Ham should improve more in their second game for new head coach Nuno and will not be a pushover, but Arsenal should have too much quality.

All the Saturday and Sunday Carling Knockout and EPL games are included in the weekend’s R150,000-added Soccer Any 13 Xtra.
