TAB betting on Saturday’s Champions Day at Turffontein is open.
That gives bettors the opportunity to get their bets in early as there is some terrific racing on show for fans.
There are two Grade 1 races taking place at the meeting, the R2-million TAB The Premier’s Champions Challenge over 2000m (Race 7) and the R1-million Computaform Sprint over 1000m (Race 6).
There are three carryover pools at the meeting. Punters have the opportunity to bet into a massive Pick 6 pool and there is a carryover of R1-million to kickstart the pool which is likely to reach R5 million.
The first leg of the Pick 6 begins in Race 4, which starts at 13.30.
The Computaform Sprint is always an exciting race and comprises a field of 15. There is a R500,000 carryover to start of the Quartet pool and that is likely to get to R1 million.
Finally, there is a Trifecta carryover to Race 10, a most interesting event as it pits the jockeys against the work riders, of R100,000 which is likely to reach R500,000.
