Star set to collect at Catterick

Dark Angel Star looks the best bet at Catterick on Wednesday as she bids to double her tally in the Download The Raceday Ready App Nursery Handicap.

A full-sister to the high-class Rhythm Master, the 130,000 guineas yearling purchase has made a promising start to her career, with two sound efforts in defeat followed by a first victory.

She was a promising fourth on her debut over 1200m at York and probably bettered that performance when dropped to the minimum trip at Beverley next time, finishing third behind a subsequent Group Three winner in Catching The Moon, who is now rated 98.

On the strength of that form it was no surprise to see Dark Angel Star make it third time lucky at Newcastle just over three weeks ago and an opening mark of 74 for her handicap debut looks lenient.

Kirkdale catches the eye in the Bet At racingtv.com Handicap.

A comfortable winner here in soft ground last autumn, the three-year-old has only run twice since, finishing fourth at Southwell in April and fifth at Haydock in May.

His fitness has to be taken on trust ahead of his return, but trainer Ed Bethell has his string in good nick and Kirkdale is significantly less exposed than most of his rivals.

Tea Queen is given a second chance to prove her worth in the British EBF Fillies' Novice Stakes at Musselburgh.

The Night Of Thunder filly was all the rage to make a winning start to her career at Beverley a fortnight ago and provide trainer Karl Burke with yet another juvenile success this season.

But odds-on backers had their fingers burnt on the Westwood, with Tea Queen far too keen to do herself justice and she predictably paid for her early exertions late, weakening in rain-softened ground to finish last of six.

The market confidence suggests the youngster has shown up well on the Middleham gallops, however, and it would be no surprise to see her put up a much improved performance on a faster surface in Scotland.

Zarzyni can supplement a recent Southwell success in the Visit racingtv.com Handicap.

Rated as high as 104 at his peak, David and Nicola Barron's sprinter is not the force he once was, but has won twice this season off marks in the 70s, including a victory at this track in April off 78.

The eight-year-old actually has three course and distance wins on his CV and bids for a fourth following a last-gasp verdict on the all-weather 10 days ago.

He does have to be delivered very late, but if William Pyle can execute those tactics as well as he did last time Zarzyni has every chance of adding to his tally under a 4lb penalty.

John and Thady Gosden's Nasebah shaped with abundant promise when third on her introduction at Newcastle and with normal improvement she should prove a tough nut to crack in the opening Free Bet With Unibet's Betbuilder Rebound Maiden Fillies' Stakes at Kempton.

Over the jumps at Warwick, Crystal Glance looks a solid bet in the Ignite Incentives Handicap Hurdle.

The five-year-old was a comfortable winner on her most recent start here in May and she can pick up where she left off for the formidable training partnership of Oliver Greenall and Josh Guerriero. - Press Association
