SPURS NOT BUYING
The transfer window for most world leagues, including South Africa, closes on Thursday at midnight. There are expected to be some last gasp moves but struggling Cape Town Spurs, who have lost their opening four games, say they are not buying any players despite the obvious need to beef up their squad. “As much as we think there’s a lot of talent available in this country, there isn’t,” insisted coach Shaun Bartlett, whose side have scored only a single goal in those four matches.
