Vaal meeting moved to Classic track

Tuesday’s race meeting on the Vaal main track has been moved to the Vaal Classic Track. 

After a further 4mm amount rainfall in the last 24 hours and a total of 40.5mm amount of rainfall in the last 7 days the Vaal Main Track track has surface water in certain areas and is unsafe for racing. 

However, after gallops were performed this morning on the Vaal Classic Track , it was unanimous that the conditions of the the track are soft but raceable. 

Please note that Races 8, 9 and 10 will now be run over 1450m. 

All other distances remain unchanged. 

Race times remain as carded. 

Trainers were given an option to scratch their horses as a result of the move, and one of those who has been withdrawn is Calibre Crest who is unbeaten in both of his starts up the straight but is likely to be unsuited to the move up to 1450m and racing around the turn.

That opens the door for Mo Jive who has run well on the Classic track, is well drawn at No 4, will be getting blinkers for the first time and has Gavin Lerena in the irons.
