Snaith to start off with Beerenberg

Snaith Racing are needing an exceptionally good Kwa-Zulu Natal winter season if they are to win the national champion trainer’s title and although most eyes will be on Saturday's Hollywoodbets Durban July runners they could have a good day at Fairview on Friday.

It all starts off in Race 1, a Maiden Juvenile Plate over 1000m on the turf, where they send out Beerenberg.

This gelding is threatening to win a race and was only run out of it late by what looks to be a decent sort in Narina Trogon.

This is a weak looking race and Corne Orffer will do the steering.

Song in Race 6, La Folie Douce in Race 7 and Hilarity in the last race are all set to run big races.

The drop in distance should suit Song in this MR 73 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1600m.

La Folie Douce quickened nicely when beating Sonic Burst at Kenilworth recently and will be course-and-distance suited in the Listed East Cape Breeders Stakes over 1200m.

Import Hilarity has yet to win in South Africa but has seen a merit rating drop this year and is coming off what is probably her best run of the year.

She looked unlucky not to win when third last time out and although that form has a cloud of it, she cannot be dismissed away easily in this MR 66 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1200m.

The runner she could have to beat though is My Ami Beach.

This filly was full of running when scoring on debut and could prove better than her current merit rating.
