Trainer Justin Snaith is stepping out two of his more talented runners in Gaudis Masterpiece and Crown Towers, and with Anton Marcus up is expecting solid performances on the turf at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Sunday.
Gaudis Masterpiece should jump at restricted odds in Race 2, a Maiden Plate over 1200m, as he is meeting modest maidens after taking on the cream of the crop in feature races as a juvenile.
He was second in a Sales race with William Robertson in third. The latter came out to win another Sales race and turned the form around with Gaudis Masterpiece, who did not enjoy racing at Turffontein.
He is overqualified as a maiden but Beechamwood Boy, who was eye catching in both Polytrack starts, and a few well-bred first-timers may ensure there is a little bit of value about the maturing three-year-old colt.
Crown Towers runs in Race 5, a Pinnacle Stakes over 1600m, and should jump at a better price as he looks to have lost a bit of form, is racing after a rest and has drawn widest of the 11 runners. Still, his record of four wins at the venue, three over 1600m, and the fact he is well weighted, will not be missed by bookmakers and one may need to get bets on early to ensure healthy dividends.
Filly Keep On Dancing has been a revelation this year, winning six out of her last seven, and if there is a bit of a rain about she may maintain her unbeaten record on soft ground and stands out as the obvious danger to Crown Towers.
