She’s A Bomber to blow up the track

Now that she’s back to her best, She’s A Bomber should be followed until beaten. The beautifully bred Lancaster Bomber filly is one of three solid form choices that can be followed at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.

The Alyson Wright-trained filly looked a star in the making after a promising debut win on the Highveld for trainer Johan Janse van Vuuren. Interestingly, she then joined Wright in KwaZulu-Natal and didn’t show much in two starts. But the money poured on her when having her third run after a rest and trying 1950m and she simply blew her field away.

The yard has a good strike rate for horses backed from decent odds, but she probably won’t be allowed to start at generous figures in Race 4, a MR 67 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1950m. She looks a class above and will probably go through the divisions.

She is from the family of promising recent runaway winner Magic Verse and a host of Graded performers over a variety of distances.

Sascha’s Dream should complete the exacta. She looked a bit unlucky not to get into a winning position after getting into a traffic jam just as she was starting to build up a strong finish last time. The worry with her is that she over-races as she is from a speedy female line, but she is by Flying The Flag which should see her go the distance.

Trainer Frank Robinson’s good run of form continues. His top stayer Madison Valley looked great value at odds of 100-1 in the Betway Summer Cup and he rewarded followers with a smashing fourth place finish in the richest Grade 1 in the land.

His charge in Race 3, a Maiden Plate run over 1200m, My Boy Lollipop, has all the form needed to win. He started his career brightly finishing second beaten 0.50 lengths by Isivivane and had subsequent Grade 1 runner-up, The Specialist, just behind.

He has since finished runner-up a further three times over the same track and trip each time meeting highly regarded individuals.

He had a valid excuse in his last start, having pulled a flank muscle, after which he was given a well-deserved break. He should come back fresh and could run out an easy winner given that he had main rival Real War well beaten when they met. However, there are first-timers in the race, so the betting market must always be closely followed.

While the above mentioned also rate as bankers for exotic bets, Tyrconnell, looks worth a solid each-way bet. The gelded son of The United States has, over 1600m, been moving up strongly only to lack a bit more to fight for the win. After all his best form is over 1400m, he was second to specialist Unzen in a Sales Cup and that horse has beaten the likes of Dave The King and Main Defender in that category.

His only win came over 1400m at Turffontein and as such he should be hard to beat back over the same distance in Race 6, a MR 88 Handicap.
