Danie Toerien
Bettors must note that there have been a number of changes to Wednesday’s racecard for the eight events to be contested at Hollywoodbets Greyville.
The first three races were originally scheduled to be run on the Turf track, but have been moved to the Polytrack due to inclement weather.
This has resulted in a few scratchings.
Jockey Muzi Yeni was also carded for seven rides, but due to him being medically indisposed after a fall at Turffontein on Saturday, alternative jockeys will be named.
One horse who will probably be totally unfazed by the change in running surface is Rodriguez, who lines up in Race 2, a MR78 Handicap over 1600m.
The six-year-old has recorded six career wins and eight runner-up finishes, split evenly between the turf and poly.
Trained by Louis Goosen, Rodriguez has been ultra consistent, finishing in the top four in his last nine races spanning back from December last year.
During that time, he did win only once, so will be deserving.
It is a rather open affair, with Querari’s Dream, Imperial Power, Fish Eagle, Send Me, and Palermo all very capable, but Rodriguez is considered strong enough to take bettors through the Bipot and Place Accumulator.
