Punters should be Livingit up at Leicester

December 2025

Livingit Du Large can give Leicester racegoers something to celebrate in the weatherbysshop.co.uk Novices' Hurdle on Wednesday.

Trained by the in-form Jamie Snowden, Livingit Du Large won one of his two juvenile hurdle starts last term, triumphing at Chepstow in January before a long break ahead of his return last month.

Sent for a novice contest at Ffos Las, the four-year-old raced prominently before dropping away at the finish over 3200m, with that 285-day absence appearing to tell when push came to shove.

Livingit Du Large should be straighter for the run and given he has won on heavy, the deep conditions are of no concern.

Golan Loop was a creditable performer over hurdles but could now have really found his niche in staying distances over fences.

Winner of one of his five outings over the smaller obstacles, he made a fine start in chase company when beaten just 1.25-lengths at Southwell last month, when he perhaps just needed that first outing since May.

That was also his first start at handicap level and while his opening mark of 112 has been edged up by 3lb, it is certainly not an insurmountable task he faces in the Beatwright Beat The Wright Way Handicap Chase at Hereford.

Soomaroy could take some beating in the first division of the Betwright Bet The Wright Way Maiden Hurdle.

Winner of a point-to-point in March, he was subsequently bought for £190,000 the following month and sent to Nicky Henderson, who opted to unleash his charge for the first time at Ascot last month.

Sent off the 4-9 favourite, Soomaroy came up against a more experienced rival and he just lacked a little for speed in going down by 1.5-lengths.

The four-year-old should take a step forward for that outing and can initiate a double for Henderson and jockey Nico de Boinville, with stablemate Laguna Beach also taken to strike.

He was third on his hurdles bow but that form got a huge boost when the winner, Hurricane Pat, hacked up in a Sandown Listed heat on Saturday, making the Seven Barrows runner of extra interest in the Bangers N'Cash Maiden Hurdle.

Trinity Street is the pick in the Seasons Greetings From Hexham Bookmakers Mares' Novices' Hurdle at the Northumberland venue.

Having finished second on her bumper bow, Henry Daly has wasted no time in turning her attentions to obstacles, which is little surprise given she already has a point win to her credit.

Beccadelli has been thereabouts in each of his three career starts but can finally hit the target in the Relaxation Awaits At Nirvana Spa Nursery Handicap at Kempton.

Fourth on his first two spins in September, he was subsequently gelded and then hit the bar when going down by 5 lengths as an odds-on favourite at Lingfield just over a month ago.

It may be handicap company brings out the best in him. - Press Association
