Dean Kannemeyer looks to have some useful runners in his yard, both in Cape Town and Durban, and he also seems to have a knack as to which of his runners will run well on the Polytrack.
That theory will be tested in Race 1 at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Wednesday where he sends out Princess Goldie to contest this Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1200m.
This three-year-old daughter of Gimmethegreenlight is a half-sister to El Dante so should prefer a little further in time, but she has placed third in her two starts so far, both of them on turf, the first at Hollywoodbets Scottsville and the last one a Greyville.
Winners have come out of both form lines and racing on the Polytrack could just be what she needs to break her duck.
She has a lot in her favour because other than strong form, she has the benefit of jumping from pole position.

In Race 7, a MR 94 Handicap over 1200m, lightning-fast Connery is out to make it four wins in a row for trainer Glen Kotzen.
Connery likes to blitz along in front, and he has been impressive completing a hat-trick while being gelded in-between victories.
He carries just 53.5kg due to rider Nirvan Nastili’s apprentice claim which could make all the difference as main protagonists Common Grounds and Mr Master Starter will have to work hard to catch him carrying a full 6.5kg more. Both are set to carry 60kgs.
An added advantage is that, jumping from gate No 1, his closest neighbour, Winter Games in gate No 2, does not possess gate speed. Connery could well get an early soft lead.
The only worry is that he is 200m up in distance from his last start, but the flipside is that he does have stamina in his bloodline.
