PIRATES AIM TO JOIN ‘DOWNS

South Africa’s representatives in continental club competition next season have been decided, although exactly who goes in either the African Champions League or African Confederation Cup will only be sorted this coming weekend. Mamelodi Sundowns will return for a 10th successive African Champions League campaign after securing the DStv Premiership title some months ago and will be joined by either Orlando Pirates or SuperSport United. In the African Confederation Cup, Sekhukhune United have qualified and the country’s other representative will be either Pirates or SuperSport. The club that finishes second in the DStv Premiership goes to the Champions League and the third placed finisher to the Confederation Cup. Pirates and SuperSport will decide second and third place in the DStv Premiership this coming Saturday as they complete their league campaign.
