Piere Strydom was back at Randjesfontein on Wednesday working a few horses for trainer Sean Tarry.
It's not the first time Strydom has been working horses after his year out of racing but he is keen to come back and get at least 11 more winners
Strydom hopes to be back in the irons on Thursday 23 June but just needs to iron out a few issues with the National Horseracing Authority.
Strydom has already accepted to ride Justin Snaith-trained Belgarion in this year's Hollywoodbets Durban July.
"It's been a bit tough to get up early on a cold winter morning again but I have to admit I really am enjoying being back in the irons again, " said Strydom.
