Peter set for early double

Once again bettors face a competitive card on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Monday but there are some opportunities to pick up some early winners and build a kitty for the remainder of the day.
Trainer Paul Peter could pick up a couple of early winners staring off in Race 1, a Maiden Plate over 1000m, where he sends out Ygritte. The chestnut daughter of William Longsword has already had a run at Greyville but that was on the turf and over 1200m where she was caught late by Canadian Summer.
That form was franked in no uncertain terms when the Darryl Moore-trained filly went on to win the Listed Devon Air Stakes impressively on Saturday, beating a decent field.
Ygritte tries the Polytrack for the first time but is ideally drawn at No 2 and has Warren Kennedy in the irons. In addition, she showed excellent pace last time and on that basis Ygritte should benefit greatly from the 200m shorter trip this time.
As a result, she does look to be the best bet on the card.
Peter also saddles Peteca in Race 3, a Maiden Plate over 1700m. The three-year-old son of Querari could have left a bad taste in the mouths of his supporters last time when going off as the 1-4 favourite and beaten into second place by Alpenhorn.
He was, however, having his first run after a rest in which he was gelded and was only beaten a length. That was not the strongest field ever assembled which probably accounted for his very short price, but he can make amends this time and looks certain to go off at a better price as the race has a lot more complexity.
He will strip fitter and also now has experience racing on the Polytrack.
