NO MORE SECOND CHANCES

The Confederation of African Football have done away with the play-off round in the Confederation Cup that allowed clubs from the Champions League to drop into that competition. Before, the 16 teams who lost in the second round of the Champions League would be able to continue their African adventure by playing off for a place in the group stages of the Confederation Cup against the 16 teams that won the second round of that competition. From this coming season that is no longer the case, as clubs cannot ‘competition hop’ and when they are out of the Champions League, that is it.
