Munger to get the best out of William

Jockey Ryan Munger loves William Robertson to the extent he would love to put this gelding on a flight to Canada with him when he goes back.

Clearly the feeling is mutual because William Robertson is a different horse when Munger gets on to his back.

He has ridden the son of Rafeef 11 times for five wins, two seconds and three thirds, and they can notch up another win together in Race 7 at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday, the African Holly Stakes over 1100m.

The Corne Spies-trained seven-year-old gelding should dominate the race as he is not only the lone Grade 1 winner in the race but also showed something like his best form again when beaten a few lengths by crack filly Almond Sea who carried a 6kg less than he did last time out.

Cats Pajamas beat him earlier when fourth in the Grade 1 Mercury Sprint but William Robertson doesn’t usually run to his very best at the turning Greyville track and Cats Pajamas has a few lengths to find with him on official merit ratings.

King Of The Gauls could be a bigger danger.
