More woes for Mitrovic
The FA is seeking a longer punishment for Aleksandar Mitrovic after the Fulham-striker was banned for eight matches for his actions during the FA Cup defeat by Manchester United last month, when he pushed the referee, Chris Kavanagh. The decision by the independent Regulatory Commission includes a suspension of three matches for the red card, three for violent conduct and two for using “improper, abusive, insulting and threatening” language. The FA will wait for the written reasons for the decision but believes Mitrovic’s punishment should have been harsher, and plans to appeal.
