More pain ahead for United

Cash add-ins from TAB and intriguing PSL and EPL matches add plenty of fire to TAB soccer pools through the weekend and the action starts tonight with a Soccer 10 pool that kicks off with R200,000 in the pot and should top R2 million!

PSL and EPL clashes dominate the landscape in TAB soccer pools this weekend and with a R600,000 cash injection from TAB into six of the pools, you can bet there are going to be some big pools and big winners!

English Premiership matches are tomorrow and Sunday with a single game on Monday night that many Manchester United fans will be dreading. It pits United against old foe Liverpool just when it seemed that it could not possibly get any worse for the beleaguered Red Devils.

The match at Old Trafford is a chance for United to pull themselves out of the fire ignited by two stunning reversals at the start of the season that indicate hopes of a revival in fortunes may have been misguided.

Erik ten Hag is the latest coach brought in to rescue the side and his record at Ajax Amsterdam suggested he would hit the ground running. But losses to Brighton & Hove Albion at home and then conceding four goals in the first half against Brentford last weekend have ruined those predictions

The Hollander now has a massive task to get the mental cobwebs out of the players’ heads and instil the confidence necessary to deal with the visit of Jurgen Klopp’s men.

What’s in United’s favour is that it has not been a perfect start for Liverpool either with successive draws and an unnecessary red card for new signing Darwin Nunez last weekend, which means he misses out on Monday.

United’s troubles and discussion around a Liverpool side looking a lot less proficient without Sadio Mane, has taken the focus away from champions Manchester City, who have made a smooth and silky start.

They have scored six goals without conceding and can be expected to notch another comfortable win when they go to Newcastle United on Sunday.

It will be interesting to see whether Arsenal’s early season form can hold up after winning their opening two games. They are away at Bournemouth tomorrow in a tough test, but the Gunners look to have made massive strides from last season’s bickering bunch.

Everton barely survived last season and have started this new campaign in a similarly poor vein. It is crucial for them to get a home win against newcomers Nottingham Forest, although that is by no means certain.

In the DStv Premiership there are unfamiliar names at the head of the table with AmaZulu, Richards Bay and TS Galaxy all on seven points from three matches.

Newcomers Richards Bay’s only previous meeting with Kaizer Chiefs was an upset cup win at Soccer City in the Gavin Hunt era and they look to have the ability to repeat that again in Johannesburg tomorrow.

AmaZulu are away at Swallows FC tonight in the first match in a R200,000 cash-added Soccer 10 pool, which should total some R2 million! Everything points to a draw and that may be the result option to choose if you need a banker. The game kicks off at 19:30.
