It could be more of the same on the Fairview Polytrack at Friday’s meeting.
On Tuesday the Poly meeting was dominated by the leading East Cape stables and it could go the same way on Friday.
Trainers Alan Greeff, Gavin Smith and Kelly Mitchley look ready to strike. The Sharon Kotzen yard is also in fine form and should also be in the winners’ box.
Although the top stables dominated, it was still a very competitive meeting on Tuesday and a tough day for the punters.
Friday’s card also looks competitive and after some strong favourites went missing on Tuesday, punters would be careful to go light in their bets.
Project Runway (Smith) is an obvious inclusion in the first leg of the Bipot in race one at 12:35.
Golden Link (Kotzen) is the odds-on favourite to win the second race. The Gold Standard colt must be considered as a banker in the first leg of the Place Accumulator at 13:10 but good runs are expected of Walt Whitman (Greeff) and Nikes Ray Of Light (Smith).
The first two races carry a BSA/CRS bonus and the third race has a Racehorse Owners Association bonus for members to aim at.
William’s Legacy (Mitchley) is the horse to beat in the third race. This is the first leg of the Pick Six at 13:45.
Puerto Plate (Greeff) and Harold The Duke (Mitchley) resume their rivalry in the fourth race, which gets the first Jackpot underway at 14:20.
The Querari filly Passchendaele (Mitchley) is in excellent form and a big runner in the seventh race.
