Ryan Moore can return to the saddle with a bang aboard top-weight Morrophore in the BetMGM Winter Oaks Trial Fillies' Handicap at Lingfield.
The world-class jockey has been sidelined by a leg injury since late August and while at one stage looked set to miss the rest of the year, he has been passed fit to return ahead of a planned trip to Hong Kong later this month.
The pick of five rides on his return looks to be the John and Thady Gosden-trained Morrophore, who opened her account on the all-weather at Wolverhampton last year and has been lightly-raced in 2025 so far with only three starts.
She was thoroughly impressive when scoring at Ascot in May but did not reappear until early October, when a tardy start put her on the back foot from flag-fall at Newmarket and she never really threatened to land a telling blow.
Morrophore has been off the track for another couple of months, but the booking of Moore looks significant.
The 42-year-old's comeback ride is George Boughey's Sovereign Wealth in the curtain-raising Always Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Nursery, but preference is for handicap debutant Blue Nguru.
Archie Watson's filly was placed on each of her three starts in maiden company, finishing third on her Goodwood debut before filling the runner-up spot at Hamilton and Catterick during the summer.
She enters the handicap arena off what looks a workable mark of 74 and is less exposed than each of her rivals.
The beautifully-bred Serenetta can open her account at the second attempt on the all-weather at Kempton.
The daughter of Kingman is a half-sister to the brilliant Arc heroine Bluestocking, as well as this year's shock Sussex Stakes scorer Qirat, and made a promising start to her career when doing her best work at the finish to place third on her Newmarket introduction.
She looked in need of the experience that day, running green before the penny dropped racing out of the dip, and she should have a better idea of what is required when she contests the Racing TV Fillies' Novice Stakes.
Clouds Hill is the pick in the Try Unibet's New Smartview Racecards Handicap.
After finishing second twice on the turf, Charlie Johnston's three-year-old made it third time lucky with something to spare on Newcastle's Tapeta surface a fortnight ago.
Talented 5lb claimer Jack Callan keeps the ride as he makes his handicap debut off a mark of 84. If Clouds Hill can get away sharply from stall one, he could
take some pegging back.
If there is a potential star on show at Haydock it is surely Mydaddypaddy, who puts his unbeaten record on the line in the CopyBet Daily Profit Boost``Introductory'' Hurdle.
Dan Skelton's Huntingdon bumper winner was already ante-post favourite for the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival before his hurdling debut at Carlisle recently and he only enhanced his reputation with a dominant display.
Faced with just two rivals on Merseyside, albeit two talented ones, this looks an ideal stepping-stone for him to take before dipping his toe into deeper waters later in the season.
National Hunt fare also comes from Ludlow, where Disco Annie can open heraccount over fences in the EK Mowers And Machinery Novices' Handicap Chase.
