Mbappe bounces back after
injury
There was much consternation at the start of the month when French superstar Kylian Mbappe sustained a hamstring injury early in the game against Montpellier and had to be taken off, not long after squandering a penalty.
The medical prognosis was a three-week absence, including tonight’s Champions League last-16 first leg clash against Bayern Munich at the Parc des Princes - a major blow to Paris St Germain’s hopes of taking the top European title this season.
But, not for the first time, Mbappe has bounced back quicker than expected and participated in the collective session as PSG trained on Sunday, although he did not stay with the squad the whole time.
This does raise the hope that the World Cup winner will be able to line up against the Bundesliga champions in what will be a key game for both teams this season.
PSG have been in poor form recently, losing 1-3 at Monaco in Ligue 1 on Saturday for their fourth defeat of the year in all competitions and the return of Mbappe would be a major boost.
Lionel Messi also sat out the trip to Monaco with a thigh injury although Neymar played.
