Lutinebella backed to excel at Exeter

Lutinebella is backed to make a successful return to Exeter on Tuesday in the Weatherbys & Birdie Calendars Handicap Hurdle.

Fergal O'Brien's mare was an impressive winner on her second start over obstacles at this venue two years ago and went on to run with credit at Listed level later that season.

She was well beaten on her return from almost a year on the sidelines in April, but has since run with credit in finishing fourth at Stratford in July and third at Worcester last month.

Her mark has dropped to 113, 10-points lower than her peak rating, and there is no doubt she is handicapped to go close in a race of this nature.

The excellent form of Kim Bailey's yard makes Bobhopeornohope of interest in the Paul Ferguson's Jumpers To Follow Best Mate Handicap Chase.

Recent form figures make the nine-year-old hard to fancy given he has been pulled up in his last four competitive outings, but the upside is his rating has fallen from a high of 142 to just 130.

There is no doubt he is a high-class operator on his day and having had a summer off to get over whatever was ailing him last term, now might be the time to catch him for a trainer who can do little wrong at the moment.

The Charlie Appleby-trained Corolla Point catches the eye ahead of his debut in the British EBF Novice Stakes at Yarmouth.

A son of the trainer's star sprinter Blue Point, this two-year-old changed hands for E78,000 as a yearling, but then after what must have been a spectacular breeze, was purchased by Godolphin for 800,000 guineas in mid-April.

It can hardly be viewed as a positive that he has been gelded without seeing the racecourse, but he presumably has a big engine.

Julie Camacho has a 100% record at Yarmouth this year, admittedly from just one runner, but it must be worth noting that she is sending Brummell on the long trip south for the Free Digital Racecard At raceday-ready.com Handicap.

He has appeared slightly in the handicapper's grip since being put up 7-points for an easy win at Beverley in May, but has been eased a couple of points after four subsequent runs without a victory.

Not disgraced when drawn on the wrong side at Haydock next time, he appeared to have no excuse when well beaten by Alfa Kellenic at Thirsk, although it did come quick enough after Haydock.

Unlucky not to win at Newcastle after that, he was then a fair third at Newmarket behind Good Earth, who followed up under a penalty.

Brummell has had a breathing operation since that late-August outing, which connections will be hoping may unlock some improvement.

Chichester has shown very little since being forced to move yards upon the retirement of Keith Dalgleish, but now looks dangerously well handicapped ahead of a planned appearance at Newcastle.

It may simply be a case of the seven-year-old not being as good as he was, but on his last start for Dalgleish he won a Listed race at York.

He only beat two horses in three outings for Charlie Johnston and has not fared much better for Lucinda Russell.

His mark has dropped from 110 to 92, though, so if he still shows nothing in the Free Bets With BetUK Bet Club Handicap, it is difficult to see where connections go with him. - Press Association
