LUNA HALO READY TO STRIKE

January 2025

Henk Steenkamp

A feature race win has been eluding her so far this season but the four-year-old filly Luna Halo looks ready to strike at Fairview on Friday.

She probably deserves to win a feature after starting her season with a third place in the Listed East Cape Paddock Stakes, followed by a second and fourth place in two Non-Black Type (NBT) events.

Luna Halo is the horse to beat in Friday’s feature, the R150 000 Lady’s Bracelet for fillies and mares over 1600m (NBT), on the Fairview Turf track.

She has no problem with track and trip and the daughter of Fire Away should take a power of beating.

The combination of trainer Alan Greeff and jockey Richard Fourie is in red-hot form at Fairview recenty and this will give punters even more confidence to banker Luna Halo in all bets.

If one looks past Luna Halo the race is wide open. Only seven runners will face the starter for the feature, race five, at 14:40.

The first of the eight races are off at 12:20 and the Pick Six gets underway with race three at 13:30.

In the first leg of the Pick Six the Greeff-Fourie combination should get punters off to a good start. Master Forester can win this one.

The Cape Town raider Gimme More Time (Justin Snaith) is also one to consider as a banker with Kabelo Matsunyane in the saddle in race four.

The Canford Cliffs filly Catch Your Breath is another Greeff runner which must be included in all bets.

She will be looking to make it three wins in a row when she lines up for race six.

With banker options for punters to structure their bets around on Friday we should, as always, give it a go!
