Lookman
can secure
rare win for
Atalanta
English-born Nigerian international Ademola Lookman could prove the difference in tonight’s Italian Cup tie as Atalanta go looking for a rare win at San Siro against Inter Milan and a place in the semi-final.
The 25-year-old Lookman has scored 12 Serie A goals this season – only one less than top scorer and compatriot Victor Osimhen of Napoli – and is proving to be one of the revelations of the Italian campaign following his arrival for 9-million euros from Bundesliga club RB Leipzig at the start of the season.
Lookman struggled during his stints at Everton and RB Leipzig but he always believed he has what it takes to excel at the highest level.
“Yes! Of course, I expected it. Maybe it’s a surprise to you, but I know what I can bring, I know what I can do. The team is the most important thing,” he says.
“Different circumstances and different scenarios made me who I am today and that’s me as a whole person. I think I’m in the right moment, doing the right things, keep staying disciplined in what I do.”
Lookman also played at Fulham and Leicester City in the Premier League after making his debut in the Championship for Charlton Athletic while still a teenager.
