The 10-race meeting at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Friday, which kicks off at 15.40 and runs through until 20.50, has been moved from the turf to the Polytrack due to a waterlogged course.
As is often the case with these sorts of meetings, it is a testing card but bettors should be able to cash in early in Race 2 where Light Of Gabriel lines up in a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1400m.
This Dean Kannemeyer-trained filly appeared to find 1200m at this course a touch too sharp for her last time. She was closing in strongly but the line came too early and she had to settle for third place but beaten just 0.40 lengths by Treasure Island.
This daughter of Gimmethegreenlight did produce the fastest final 400m and on breeding, is expected to get it right over the extra 200m this time.
She is a half-sister to five-time winner Kingdom Of Heaven who was at his best over 1600m.
She will need to overcome a No 10 draw which is not ideal but she looks to have plenty of ability. With Craig Zackey serving a one-week suspension, Marco van Rensburg has picked up the ride.
