The two top trainers in the Eastern Cape, Gavin Smith and Alan Greeff, go into the last month of the season on level terms.
Over the next five Fairview meetings, starting with eight races on the Polytrack on Monday, the two stables will be involved in a fierce
battle for the trainers’ title.
The East Cape title is decided by the number of wins and both trainers have saddled 113 winners since the start of the season.
Richard Fourie has already made sure of the East Cape jockey title but will be aiming to ride 100 winners at Fairview this season. He is
nine winners away from this personal milestone.
Smith and Greeff look strong throughout the day with Open Secret (Greeff, race 5 no 3), Bonnaroo (Greeff, race 6 no 4) and Great Melody (Smith, race 8 no 1) big runners.
Also keep an eye on the runners from the Sharon Kotzen yard as this stable is in great form.
The first race is off at 12:45 and gets the Bipot underway. The Place Accumulator starts with the second race and race three is the first leg
of the Pick Six.
