Letsoalo

set to a

big asset

Victor Letsoalo was the runner up in the DStv Premiership goal-scoring charts last season in a league in which proven marksmen are as scarce as hen’s teeth.

It was a major surprise then that Royal AM let him go to unfashionable Sekhukhune United, when he might have commanded a much bigger fee from one of the front-running clubs.

It was explained at the time that Letsoalo wanted to move close to his family in Limpopo, but it has since emerged that Royal AM had some outstanding legal debt to settle with Sekhukhune, who have pulled off something of a coup by adding the 29-year-old their roster.

He will be under immediate pressure to deliver goals, starting this Saturday away at Maritzburg United on the opening weekend of the new PSL season.

Sekhukhune finished 11th last season with a tally of 21 goals - the worst of all 16 PSL teams. Letsoalo scored 15 on his own, emphasising what a useful addition he is expected to be.

Letsoalo is one of 16 new players signed by the club, who have decided to now play their home games in Polokwane, rather than Ellis Park which they used last season.
