Lady Of Power for Flamboyant win

The cancellation of last Tuesday’s race meeting at Hollywoodbets Greyville forced the two feature races on the card, the Grade 3 Flamboyant Stakes and Listed Christmas Handicap, bother over 1600m, to be rearranged and both will be run at Greyville on Monday

Woman Of Power takes a massive drop in class at Hollywoodbets Greyville on Tuesday when she lines up Flamboyant Stakes.

The four-year-old daughter of Master Of My Fate appeared to have a very bright future when winning the Grade 2 Wilgerbosdrift Fillies Guineas over 1600m at Turffontein in February and then ended up changing stables after a fallout between her trainer and some of the owners.

After that the wheels appeared to be come off but that did not stop Mike and Adam Azzie from persevering with her and putting her against the best in the land.

Her last eight races have included three Grade 1s, four Grade 2s and a Pinnacle Stakes last time out. The first seven were disappointing, but last time out in the Pinnacle Stakes we saw a return to form as she kept up all the way to the line before being run out of it in the closing stages to finish 0.50 lengths by Melech from whom she was in receipt of 6kg.

This time she runs against her own sex in race where the average merit rating is 12 points lower than her last race and considerably lower than that of all the earlier Graded races.

In her last race over this course and distance, the Grade 2 WSB Fillies Guineas, she was beaten just 2.40 lengths.

S’manga Khumalo rode her last time, and he is back in the irons again.

Marigold Hotel is the best-weighted runner and she comes off a third place behind unbeaten filly Gimme A Nother in the Grade 2 Ipi Tome Challenge at Turffontein and is a also taking a drop in class.

She is usually at her best over a little shorter but needs to be respected in this field.
