Jack Milner: Jockey Anton Marcus has been stood down for the race meeting at Greyville on Sunday but top jockeys have picked up his best rides.
Racing takes place on the Polytrack.
One horses who has been struggling to crack her maiden is Lady Of Lutetia in Race 2, a Maiden Plate for fillies and mares over 1600m. With Marcus not riding champion jockey Warren Kennedy has picked up the ride.
Lady Of Lutetia is a firm favourite of the bookmakers, having failed time and again over different trips and tracks, but she has had excuses – from wide draws to unsuitable distances.
Paul Lafferty’s runner finally returns to the Polytrack. In her only start on the surface she flew up from last off a wide draw only to be denied by a short head.
Lady Of Lutetia also has the advantage of jumping from No 1 draw.
Luke Ferraris has picked up the ride on Baby Shooz, the Peter Muscutt-trained runner in Race 4, a MR 98 Handicap over 1700m. The son of Jackson has a good record on the Polytrack and will have no problem with the distance.
He did fail dismally last time when trailing in at the back of a 12-horse field in the Listed Kings Cup over 1600m on the turf at Greyville, but it was his first run back after a short rest and he was drawn widest of all and did not seem to overcome that hurdle.
He is drawn on the outside of the field again this time but there are only seven runners and somehow, on the Polytrack, it is not as much of an impediment as the jockeys tend to stay off the fence and come out wide in the straight.
