The form around Winter Chill could be the strongest guide to the outcome of the Marula Sprint (Non-Black Type) over 1200m at Hollywoodbets Scottsville on Sunday.
Another runner to consider is Michael Roberts-trained Solid Gold. While he is held on form on races run at Greyville, this Rock Of Gibraltar gelding is a different performer at Scottsville where he has won six of his eight starts.
Serino Moodley rides. The Garth Puller-trained runner has been in good form and is coming off two successive victories, both over 1200m on the turf at Greyville.
Two runs back he beat Good Rhythm by 0.95 lengths but is now 6kg worse off with the Louis Goosen-trained runner and that should be enough to turn the tables.
However, Hard To Play finished 1.10 lengths behind Good Rhythm over 1200m on the Polytrack at Greyville but this time there is a 6.5kg weight turnaround in favour of the Wendy Whitehead-trained runner.
The move to Scottsville could well work in the favour of Hard To Play as the six-year-old gelding has run four times over the course and distance for a win and a third place.
It is a very open race but Hard To Play could be the runner to beat. Stuart Randolph is aboard and he has a thorough knowledge of this gelding, having ridden him 24 times for five wins and 10 places.
With Lyle Hewitson unable to travel, Jarred Samuel has picked up the ride while Ashton Arries rides Good Rhythm.
