Jack Milner: Unbeaten Kitty Cat Chat makes her return to racing at Kenilworth on Wednesday and is expected to keep that record intact.
The Australian-bred daughter of Press Statement last made an appearance on 17 February when she led from start to finish over 1200m at this course to beat Marmalisa by 0.75 lengths.
However, trainer Brett Crawford has confirmed his charge is working well.
Anton Marcus, who has ridden her in two of her three victories, will be in the irons again when she lines up in Race 4, a MR 96 Handicap for fillies and mares over 1000m.
Kitty Cat Chat does carry top weight of 61kg, but she should be up to the task. She is likely to be aided by the fact that five of her seven rivals are also coming back from breaks and find themselves in a similar position.
Her main danger is likely to be Brianna from the Adam Marcus yard. She has raced four times for two wins and a close-up second, and in her only unplaced run she pulled up lame. Keagan de Melo was aboard the four-year-old daughter of Legislate when she put up a relentless gallop to keep Glacier Gold at bay by 0.50 lengths, and he has been engaged to ride her again.
On the subject of Crawford and Australian-bred runners he has trained, the news has come through that Run Fox Run is in foal to Frankel.
In addition, the five-year-old mare has been named a finalist for Horse Of The Year by the South Australian Thoroughbred Breeders. The awards will be held on 22 January.
The daughter Of Foxwedge raced 11 times for eight wins and three places. Her final run was in January when she beat Rio Querari to claim the Grade 1 Cape Flying Championship over 1000m.
