King Bavarian to rule at Greyville

Punters appear to have been set a tough task to get the better of the bookmakers at Wednesday’s race meeting on the Polytrack at Hollywoodbets Greyville, as it looks highly competitive.

However, it is amazing how many times the cards that look most difficult yield form results, and that could be the case on Wednesday.

One runner that does stand out on the card comes up in Race 3, a Maiden Plate over 1800m, where King Bavarian bumps some weak rivals.

The Linngari gelding has been threatening to win a race, and his task appears a lot easier this time as this field looks weaker than those has faced in the past. In addition, both his trainer, Alyson Wright, and jockey Muzi Yeni are in good form.

This four-year-old certainly has had his fair share of opportunities as he has raced nine times, eight of those on the Polytrack, for two thirds and two fourths.

However, he does appear to have built up some rapport with Yeni who has ridden him five times and three of King Bavarian’s four places were with Yeni in the irons.

King Bavarian was a bit unlucky last time out over 1900m where he looked likely to get up late but was held off by both King Of Seville and Josephine’s Pride. Nevertheless, he was beaten just 0.90 lengths and should find this 100m drop in distance right up his street.
