The Kelly Mitchley stable will be flying the flag for Nelson Mandela Bay Racing at Saturday’s Durbanville meeting.
Mitchley will be saddling the filly Public Benefit in the R600 000 Cape Racing Sales Ready To Run Stakes for three-year-olds over 1400m.
“We have to take a chance, so we have a ticket, we have a chance,” the trainer said.
This is race six on the card and off at 15:58.
“We are also taking three maidens and wouldn’t have taken them if I thought we didn’t have a chance.”
Mitchley is referring to Miraculous Man (race 1 at 13:00), Fire Chaser (race 2 at 13:35) and Single File (race 3 at 14:10).
Jockey Ashton Arries will do duty for the Mitchley yard in Cape Town.
